On my way to work, while exiting the freeway, I noticed a woman walking a bicycle that had a large cart attached to the back of it. It was obvious to me she was no doubt homeless. I pulled into the closest parking lot after the exit and she too entered the same one. I decided to qive her some money. As she entered the lot, her cart gave way and as I was already out of my car, I ran towards her and helped her get her bike and cart out of the roadway. Once pulled over, I gave her the small amount of cash and a bottle of water. She pulled her hat over her eyes, I think to hide her tears. Then I began to cry as well. Her name was Kari, not that far off from my name. How filled with gratitude I was for my situation and realized she was not a stranger at all, but a sister human being.
