I cycle through London every day and on a daily basis I see people overreacting with aggression towards other road users. The default response to any confrontation seems to be a flurry of curse words, gesturing and general bad feeling. Today I pulled up to a bus driver who had driven into the area reserved for bicycles at traffic lights. His window was down and as he was so close, I turned to face him. I could tell that he was bracing himself for a telling off but instead I just... said hello! He was visibly surprised but responded and we had a chat about each other's day. Unexpected but oh so simple - hopefully a small contribution to show that there's an alternative to aggressive that might just help us co-exist happily on London's roads.
