About a month ago I went to my doctor for a checkup. After my appointment I was setting up a follow up appointment with the receptionist and there was another patient standing next to me. She looked like she was homeless. She was embarrassed that she didn't have any shoes and kept apologizing to us for it. As we both left the office I asked her if she needed shoes. She said yes, she was homeless and had $20 dollars to buy shoes and some food. There is a Goodwill (resale shop) right next to the doctors office so I accompanied her there and she picked out some shoes, a jacket, some jeans and a few pairs of socks. We went to the register and it was well over her $20 budget. I paid for all her items and we left. Outside she asked me how much she owed me and I said nothing, just be safe and take care of yourself, and we went our separate ways.

I try not to post about things I do for people, I don't want to be viewed as a humblebragger. The only people I usually tell are my two kids, I'm trying to set a good example for them.
