Take a walk with a friend

I came up with an idea to get some neighborhood children to pick up the trash in THEIR neighborhood. I handed out gloves and plastic bags and told each child that when they got their bag full they could return it back to me and pick a prize from the prize bucket I had. I had gotten some items and put into a bucket (candy, toothbrushes, small toys, chapstick, gum, hair bows, etc.) This picture shows some of the trash we collected that day. It was fun. The kids were so excited to participate.
