When you live in a city like New York, you often see graffiti on buildings, in the subway, covering bathroom walls, etc. And despite a lot of it being beautiful, the messages are often cynical and pessimistic. A few months back, I had this idea to offset the negativity by leaving chalk drawings of inspiring messages outside of subway stations. I try to do one each month, and this initiative has inspired me to do them even more frequently (once a week!).

Here's a photo of one of my favorites that I left outside of the Borough Hall station in Brooklyn Heights. The occasional smile from the otherwise dejected commuter definitely made it worth it. I recommend trying it in your neighborhood.
