I am a pensioner who has two friends who are in financial difficulty. I have offered my humble home to them, not expecting any reward at all. I believe in random acts of kindness right across the spectrum, such as helping elderly people carry heavy parcels, giving to the poorest of the poor, helping people in distress. It is something my parents ingrained in me since birth. All I can say it makes me feel great to assist people It has become second nature to me. However, I cannot abide people who take me for a ride, who see me as a soft touch. My philosophy is that if I help someone, I do not expect anything in return, but ask those whom I help, to do the same for someone else, so that kindness can snowball.
