This evening I called a friend I hadn't directly spoken to in probably 14yrs. I called to thank her for a personal and uplifting birthday message she left me in May, but I was feeling down at the time. In fact in June, she texted to connect, but I dodged her message - because I was selfish and isolating from the world. Tonight I felt I owed it her to thank her for her message and say I'm sorry. The conversation went so well. She confided what's going on in her life. It was a well timed call, and it was great to hear her laughter and reminisce spontaneously. Something that's not quite captured on texts. Thank you for reading, and if you have the opportunity, I recommend picking up the phone, making the call. Do it for them, do it for yourself.
